Is the student required to take an English test?
Cedar Valley Waldorf School does not require students to take an English proficiency test (TOEFL), but students are expected to have basic usage of English. This can be assessed in the interview. As the students are immersed in the classroom, their English proficiency will grow.
Does Cedar Valley Waldorf School offer English Courses?
We do not offer any prep courses. Your child will be immersed in the classroom where they will experience a rich English language environment (learning reading, writing and the spoken language). As long as the student has basic skills, the English proficiency will be developed.
Is there local housing available? Home stay?
There is local housing available for rent. The local newspaper, The Squamish Chief, has rental listings in their classified section.
Does Squamish have local places to shop?
Squamish has three grocery stores, all of which have international foods sections. In the Vancouver area, there are a wide range of specialty grocers which stock international and imported foods.
Does Cedar Valley Waldorf School have many international students?
The school has had increasing interest from international students. Some students attend for the whole year, while others stay for shorter periods of time.
